In the News: Maria Paparella '16 recognized in Reader's Digest for non-profit work

Maria Paparella '16 continues to inspire.

She was recently featured in the October 2021 edition of Reader's Digest in the "Everyday Heroes" section for her non-profit organization, Chair-ity.

Paparella founded Chair-ity back in 2014, when she was still a student at WRA. She was moved when she learned about foster kids who find themselves in a state of independence with very little to call their own. Chair-ity's mission is to provide furnishings and household goods to young adults who have graduated or left foster care.

Through Paparella's dedication and efforts, hundreds of individuals have received furniture across six Ohio counties. Her support continues to grow, and was recently bolstered by 100 Women Strong Ohio, a philanthropic organization that joins women together to support mission-based causes.

At the October gathering of 100 Women Strong, Paparella was presented with $5,000 toward her organization.
