Western Reserve Academy is proud of our multifaceted students. Last month, over 10 WRA students were recognized with more than 20 collective honors for their artistic endeavors with a Regional Scholastic Art and Writing award presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. Students received Gold Keys, Silver Keys and honorable mentions in the general categories of art and writing. Within the art category, students submitted work in digital art, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography and sculpture. The writing category includes three subcategories for writing, journalism writing and writing portfolio.

A few of our students received particularly special recognition, including Jordanne Nichols ’23, who received a Silver Key for her writing portfolio — a particularly prestigious category, which only allows submissions from members of the senior class, and Addien Lewis ’25, who was awarded with The Vibrant Palette Award from the Cuyahoga Valley Center for the Arts.

Students who received Gold Keys were Jiahe (Jenny) Su ’24 (writing - journalism), Addien Lewis (art - mixed media) and Yinmeng (Lucy) Li ’23 (art - photography). In this regional event, students who have received a Gold Key will now have their work advance to the National level.

Students who received Silver Keys were Jordanne Nichols (writing - portfolio), Hao Cheng (Bob) Wang ’24 (writing), Ella Brooks ’23 (art - sculpture), Liam Doe ’23 (art - photography), Nhat (Flin) Huynh ’23 (art - photography), Addien Lewis (art - mixed media) and Ziyun (Kate) Zhou ’25 (art - digital art).

Students who received honorable mentions were Liam Doe (art - jewelry), Julian Farian ’26 (art - sculpture), Ella Haas ’23 (art - photography), JunNing (David) Hu ’24 (art - photography), Nhat (Flin) Huynh (art - photography), Addien Lewis (art - mixed media & - painting) and Hao Cheng (Bob) Wang (art - photography).

We are proud of all of the students who work tirelessly on their craft. WRA’s Fine & Performing Arts department cultivates creativity in each student and encourages their expression across all mediums. Congratulations to all those recognized with awards!
