  • The WRA Mock Trial team (Daryn Amos '25, Suhaan Yadama '24, Brenna Pethel '25, Xochi Nandi '25, Thomas Casey '26, T.J. Neumann '23, Jenny Su '24, Haram Yoo '25 and Charlie Cai '26) presented a strong showing at States, winning their first trial. Daryn Amos was recognized as Outstanding Attorney.
  • At the Cleveland regional competition of National History Day last weekend, Juniors Stephen Kosco '24, Cavin Xue '24, Jada Kenner '24, Paige Dix '24, Jiahe Su '24, Anindita Chetia '24 and Celine Omega '24 won accolades, and their projects will now move on to the Ohio State competition. Anna Averell '24, Ava Palfi '24, Peter McGinnes '24 and Matthew Chlysta '24 won in the Special Prize Category for their projects. The research ranged from studying the conservationist work of Teddy Roosevelt, to looking at motion picture history, women's suffrage, student movements and Asian American history.

  • Dr. Erik Chaput's continued research is a direct benefit to the entire WRA community as he assists in our understanding of instrumental Black leaders in Ohio preceding the Civil War. Read his article recently published in "Common Place: the journal of early American life" entitled "'Nativity Gives Citizenship": Teaching Antislavery Constitutionalism Through the Black Convention Movement."
