Dear WRA Community,
To mask or not to mask, that is the question…
Recent updates from both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine have indicated new protocols regarding COVID-19. We are thrilled to hear of the lifting of many restrictions and take solace in knowing the pandemic will soon be behind us.
While we can't wait to see the smiles of a maskless WRA community, please understand that we must, in some instances, be diligent a bit longer.
The following protocols will be in effect through the end of the school year:
- In alignment with the guidelines provided by Governor DeWine, masks are required in classrooms, hallways, common areas, athletic facilities and dining areas. While it may be tempting to take your mask off, please adhere to these rules when in these areas.
- Unless in one of the aforementioned areas, fully vaccinated individuals will not be required to wear a mask in these locations:
- In a segregated area that is closed off from common areas
- In a group of less than 10 individuals
- Fully vaccinated individuals (for clarity, these are individuals for whom it has been at least two weeks since having received the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or at least two weeks since having received their dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) will not be required to wear a mask outside.
- Provided events are outside as planned, fully vaccinated individuals will not be required to wear a mask to Senior Prom or Commencement.
- For our non-vaccinated individuals, please know that in accordance with CDC guidelines, those ages 10 and older are required to wear masks in public indoor spaces and outdoors when unable to maintain 6-foot distancing.
WRA is a community that values honesty as well as the safety of and respect for one another. For the wellness of others and yourself, act accordingly. If you have not been vaccinated, you are expected to continue masking. In certain settings, you may be asked if you have been vaccinated in order to determine whether or not a mask is required. You may also note the choice of individuals to mask or physically distance even when it is not required — this is understandable and acceptable.
I am incredibly proud of our Reserve community. We have found positivity and created joy throughout the 2020-2021 school year. Thank you for your concerns for one another and for your efforts to make WRA healthier and stronger as a whole. Let us cross the finish line together. It is indeed within sight.
Lux et Veritas,
