Dear Friends,
I hope this email finds you and your loved ones safe and well.
While the early days of summer are typically a time that I relish, my heart is heavier than usual. COVID-19 and circumstances emanating from the death of George Floyd have me pensive. I grieve for all experiencing pain, fear and unrest. During times of such reflectivity I find myself even more grateful to be a part of a community, and specifically, the WRA community. I appreciate living, working and spending time with a dynamic group of people united in their concern for one another and the world at large.
One of the benefits of being a part of a community is having the opportunity to explore ideas and thoughts with others in a shared environment of respect. To this end, WRA is offering an opportunity for student reflection regarding the death of George Floyd and race relations in the United States. If this is of interest to you, you are welcome to join peers and faculty facilitators in a Race Space conversation at this link https://meetings.ringcentral.com/j/1497771549 on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. (Eastern).
Know that you are in my thoughts as well as those of the faculty and staff here at WRA.
Sending thoughts of peace and optimism,
Mrs. Buck
