Back-to-School Bash 2016

Don't let the score fool you, WRA had a great game. For the first two hours freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors could be seen playing cornhole, spike ball, volleyball and reconnecting with classmates they hadn't spent time with since before summer break, while a DJ played tunes outside in front of Ellsworth.

A lot of them were wearing their new Back-to-School Bash 2016 T-shirts in retro blue and enjoying cotton candy, shaken lemonade, snow cones and carnival-style corn dogs. New and very popular this year was the dunk tank. Dean of Admission & Financial Aid Dan Morrissey and Associate Director of Admission Thomas Adams-Wall generously volunteered to be dunked. It was a lot of fun for the kids because they have good aim, so they enjoyed seeing their Dean and Associate Director of Admission get wet numerous times before the clouds let loose.

The seniors were especially sentimental about the evening with their last time in the rocket car, a WRA tradition. Then the thunderstorm won, kind of. The rain and lightning came with a vengeance forcing everyone inside in a hurry, but the fun continued in the Green Key with a few minor alterations to the party.

Thank you to all the PWA moms and volunteer dads that worked to prepare for the party, those that worked at the party and those that cleaned up after the party — you made the evening a great success. Thank you to the PWA moms that baked 24 dozen cookies, you made a lot of kids very happy!

Mark your calendars - Homecoming is Oct. 22, 2016
