Two more wins bring WRA Hockey to 4-0 record

Pioneers take down Kenston and Solon in two-game weekend.

The WRA Ice Hockey team played on back-to-back days for the second consecutive weekend.

They first faced off with Kenston on Saturday at The Pond in Chagrin Falls. Ryan Favaro '22 notched two goals, and the scoring was rounded out by Christian Brunso '24 and Nick Palmer '22 who scored one apiece.

The whole squad got involved in Saturday's battle, as each goal was assisted by a different Pioneer. Brendan Gallagher '23 recorded 17 saves in another solid performance goaltending. Reserve earned the 4-1 victory.

On Sunday, WRA took on Solon at the facilities of Gilmour Academy. Goals were in plentiful supply as the team built a comfortable 6-1 advantage thanks to 6 different scorers. Gallagher protected the goal well yet again, but had fewer shots to deal with because of WRA's dominant defensive performance.

So far, the team looks excellent on the ice and now enjoys a 4-0 record. The Pioneers have outscored their opponents 26-8 through four games. Many of the key performers are Juniors or Seniors, but a healthy mix of younger talent has brought new energy to the group.

Next game: Thursday, Dec. 16 vs. Theodore Roosevelt HS, 7:00 PM @ KSU Ice Arena.
