After being named All-Ohio, Hart is honored with regional recognition.
Last month, the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association released their selection of players named to the All-Ohio team.
Senior standout Zach Hart '22 was on the First Team All-Ohio list for Division III, an achievement reserved only for the most skilled and valuable soccer players across the state. But, the accolades didn't stop there.
Hart was recently named to the 2021 Central All-Region Team. The All-Region Team includes the best and brightest from Ohio, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota.
A powerful defender from Aurora, OH, Hart can orchestrate the field as well as any high school player in Ohio. That's saying a lot, considering Ohio is well respected around the country for youth and high school soccer.
His defensive performances were crucial to the success of the team. Hart would never shy away from going up for a header or stepping in front of a shot, even with swarms of opposing players around him. Physically strong and equipped with speed, Hart went into 50/50 battles with confidence and would still manage to control the ball with skill. And, his skill was hard to miss.
After serving as the team captain and helping lead Boys Soccer to a 10-3-2 record, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tri-County League. Hart also earned All-District recognition for the second consecutive year before being notified of his All-State and All-Region awards.
While Hart's abilities are undeniable, it's his leadership and team dedication that carry him above and beyond simply being a good player. He is currently waiting to hear back from several colleges, many of whom have expressed interest in him joining their soccer program.
Congratulations, Zach! To say we're proud is an understatement.
