The Pioneers continue a dominant 2023 campaign with wins from both teams.
Western Reserve Academy’s Prep Boys Lacrosse team moved to 10-4 overall, 5-1 in MSLA play, following a 19-6 romp over Shady Side Academy (PA) on Sunday, April 23.
Jared Maznik ‘24 (Harvard) led with six goals and two assists while fellow attackman Charlie Iler ‘23 (Johns Hopkins) chipped in with five goals and two assists. Luke Jaeger ‘25 scored two goals and had two assists from his defensive midfield position as nine different Pioneers scored goals. Tyler Coryea ‘24 (Maryland) and Joe Budington ‘24 (Michigan) split time in the net.
The Pioneer Varsity team remained undefeated on the season following a 16-11 victory over Hilliard Darby (OH) on Saturday, April 22. The win moves Varsity to 7-0 on the season. Andrew Dittmore ‘23 (Centre) scored six goals and assisted on two others for an eight-point game. Devon Satterly ‘25 found the back of the net four times as WRA scored the first eight goals of the second half to break open a 6-6 deadlock. Brant Satterly ‘23 (Denison) went the distance in the cage for WRA.
WRA has a busy week ahead with the Prep team hosting Everest Academy (Ontario) on Wednesday, April 26 at 5:30 pm, before playing at St. Ignatius (OH) on Friday, April 28 at 7:00 pm. The Pioneer Prep team will host St. Edward (OH) on Sunday, April 30 at 5:30 pm in a makeup for a game postponed earlier in the season.
WRA Varsity will host Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (OH) on Tuesday, April 25 at 5:30 pm and Granville (OH) on Saturday, April 29 at 2:00 pm.
