Track & Field Teams Find Success at Optimist & Woodridge

The WRA athletes continue to improve with each meet. 

The Track & Field teams traveled to two different meets on Saturday: the 42nd Optimist Invitational and the Woodridge Meet. Seniors Rebecca Rubiano and Tommy Cahill finished their WRA careers with huge PRs in the 300IH and 400m respectively. The girls 4x200 team of senior captain Jordanne Nichols, juniors Jada Kenner and Lea Carino, and sophomore Mia Maze-Ingram took home the gold at the competitive Optimist Invitational! Kenner took the silver in the 400m. 9th grade sprint specialist Makayla Riles had her best meet of the season in the 100m and 200m, posting career bests in both events. The girls 4x800 team of sophomores Addie LeVan and Liv Taibon, senior Elba Heddesheimer and freshman Arterina Bailey took 6th at the Optimist meet.

Sophomore Travis Archer (300IH); personal record

 

Silver Medals:

Makayla Riles 3 silver medals in the 100m, 200m (PR), LJ (PR)

Sophomore Elias Vail 200m (PR)

 

Personal Bests achieved:

Mia Maze-Ingram, and freshmen Lauren Smetzler and Bridget Lardie in the 400m. Maze-Ingram finished 4th overall. 

Arterina Bailey had a 8 second PR in the 1600m. A truly tremendous accomplishment.
