Jacob says a major perk to being a day student at WRA is his independence. He feels in charge of where he goes throughout the week and that's pretty cool. "I get a taste of the college experience."
day in the life

Jacob is the captain of the cross country team and also runs track and field. He's an editor for The Reserve Record, the head of the Jewish Student Union and Bridge Building Club.

When asked why he chose Reserve, Jacob said, "When I visited in the eighth grade, I immediately felt an attachment to the sense of community and noticed how tightly bound friendships appeared among students from all different backgrounds. I truly saw Reserve as a high school experience unlike any other."

Before coming to Reserve, Jacob did not consider himself to be a strong writer. "During my junior year, I tried writing articles for The Reserve Record and quickly learned that I had a passion for journalism -- now I'm one of the Editors.
I hope to maintain this passion in my future."

It's no secret Reserve is the place where many students discover new interests. Jacob uncovered another one of his passions during his junior year. "After taking Physics with Ms. Boesch, I knew for sure I wanted to pursue engineering as a career. I really enjoyed learning the material more than any other class I had taken in the past."

Campus Spotlight—HaydenHall2
HaydenHallCollage
Built in 1878, Hayden Hall is the musical hub at Reserve. Located on College Street on the southwest point of campus, it's the place where students take full-year courses in vocal performance, String Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, music theory and more. And thanks to features like the oversized porch, rocking chairs and ten practice and performance spaces, it's a favorite place to hang out for
student musicians.

technology and innovation

Our technology and innovation courses -- all held in the 6,000-square-foot Wang Innovation Center -- allow students to explore their own interests and to develop creative projects that foster critical thinking, entrepreneurship, communication and collaboration. This Fall, students in Graphic Design & Illustration collaborated with the City of Hudson to produce creative assets for the City's new
"Sips & Bites" event.

Director of Education Technology Caitlin Fritz said, "Our students designed the logo, flyers, passports, stamps and engraved mugs. Their designs will be shared all over town later this month." Ms. Fritz teaches Learn to Make and Graphic Design & Illustration and added, "These courses are designed to prepare our students with the necessary skill sets for future careers as they lead the
Fourth Industrial Revolution."

Some of our technology and innovation courses include:

Learn To Make
Engineering and Fabrication
Graphic Design and Illustration
E-Textiles and Fabrics
Idea To Product: How to Start A Business
3D Printing and Design
