After the Compass presentations, I remade my circuit board to add more functionality as I had previously mentioned in the last post. My next hurdle now is to update the sensor because my current sensor only gets about four meters of range. Dr. Borrmann talked to some of his relatives at MIT and they suggested using the Garmin Lidar v3. This sensor gets up to 40 meters of range and runs off of the same amount of power. This sensor is perfect, however, the only problem is that this new sensor costs $150, which is going to limit the amount of final products I am able to produce. Currently, I am waiting for the sensor to come in but once it is here, I will begin testing it.
