Winter is coming… and Reserve Summer is so excited to officially announce the arrival of our holiday programs! We simply couldn’t wait until summer to see everyone again and are thrilled to share the following minicamps just in time for the holiday season. Reserve Summer - Holiday Edition is the perfect way to bring a little extra fun (and learning) to your child’s holidays this year.
STEM learning focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEAM programs also focus on the Arts such as humanities, language arts, music, visual arts, design and new media. STEAM investigates the same concepts as STEM but does this through inquiry and problem-based learning methods used in the creative process.
Set sail for islands full of real life and virtual adventure! Challenge Island began 12 years ago in Atlanta, Georgia with the aim of getting children interested in history, geography, engineering and encouraging imagination. Today, Entrepreneur Magazine has ranked Challenge Island as the world’s #1 STEAM learning program.
ThankSTEAMing (Presented by: Challenge Island)
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. - noon
Ages: K - 6th Grade / Coed
Description: Join us for a morning of Thanksgiving inspired STEAM challenges. Kids will work with their teams to design and engineer their version of the Mayflower and then it's off to the races! Who will win our Mayflower harbor boat race? There will be pumpkin slime making and many more fun Thanksgiving themed activities to keep kids engaged and having fun!
STEAMing Through the Holidays! (Presented by: Challenge Island)
Dates: Tuesday & Wednesday, Dec. 28 & 29, from 9 a.m. - noon
Ages: K- 6th Grade /Coed
Description: This holiday season give your kids the gifts of engineering, imagination and creativity with Challenge Island winter themed workshops!
This is a two-day minicamp. You may enroll for one or both session days.
Day 1 (Dec. 28) of our minicamp will center around learning about Antarctica as we engineer and race penguin toboggans. Kids will create snowflake copters and make color changing slime! Many more fun activities will round out this winter inspired session.
Day 2 (Dec. 29) of our minicamp is all about snow! We will design and create a ski lodge and engineer an avalanche mountain ride. Kids will create spinning snowmen and, of course, we will make snow slime! Other snow themed activities will keep kids engaged and having fun all morning!
Preparatory Camps – Presented by The Etiquette Factory
Good manners go hand-in-hand with leadership. The Etiquette Factory presents an interactive etiquette program to impart social skills, emotional IQ and confidence that come from a solid foundation in the rules of etiquette. Students who attain these soft skills are more considerate and successful in their lives. Studies at Harvard University, Stanford Institute, and the Carnegie Foundation have found that 85% of future success depends on social skills.
Children’s, Tween's & Teen's Finishing School - Etiquette Class (Presented by: The Etiquette Factory)
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. - noon
Ages: Ages 6 – 14 Years Old / Grades 2 – 8 / Coed
Description: Just in time for Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving dinner is such a special time. You’re surrounded by family and friends and about to enjoy a delicious feast at a beautifully set table…with your kids. Not to worry! Have them attend our Dining Etiquette program to prepare them for this special day and the ones to follow.
This three-hour program will focus on the following dining and social skills:
- Proper Introductions
- Courtesies that Count
- Play Date and Party Manners
- Thank You Notes
- Everyday Table Manners – Setting the Table and American Style
Our modern offering for middle school youth further builds upon their foundation of good manners and leadership skills, additionally focusing on the following dining and social education relevant to today's preteens.
- First Impressions, Posture and Proper Introductions
- Social Networking, Digital Etiquette and Online Zoom Etiquette
- Host/Guest Duties
- Thank You Notes, Gratitude and Using Polite Words
- Casual and Formal Dining Etiquette- Setting the Table, American Style, Continental Style and Dining Etiquette Around the World
- Communication Skills and Confidence

Camp Millionaire – The Money Game (Presented by: Kimberlee Franz)
Date: Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 9 a.m. – noon
Ages: 10-14 Years Old / Grades 6 – 8 / Coed
Description: If you’re looking for a unique, action-packed, information-rich, imagination-igniting financial education program for your child, then look no further. Imagine if the world of money was simply a game and all you had to do to win the game was learn the rules! Well, guess what? Money truly is just a game, and if we understand the simple, time-tested practices that wealthy people employ to get and stay rich, we can win too.
The Money Game helps participants understand the following topics:
- Federal, State and Local Taxes
- Social Security and Medicare/ Medicaid
- Everyday expenses and bills - utilities, rent, car insurance and credit cards
- The financial cost of life events
- Recording and keeping track of your money, assets and liabilities
- Earned, portfolio and passive income and so much more!

Western Reserve Academy Tennis
Dates: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, Dec. 28, 29 & 30, from 10 a.m. - noon
Ages: Ages 6 – 14 Years Old / Coed
Description: Coach Kevin Vaughn returns for this 3 day minicamp to help your tennis player keep their skills warm this winter! Athletes of all levels can register for 1, 2 or all 3 session days and enjoy various activities that will both challenge and grow their tennis skills. This is a great opportunity for advanced players to work on their techniques or for those new to tennis to receive a more in-depth introduction to the game.
