Western Reserve Academy welcomes Taylor Epstein, WRA's new Diving Coach

Western Reserve Academy is pleased to announce Taylor Epstein will lead our Diving program, bringing more than five years of coaching experience at the club, high school and collegiate level.

Epstein first began coaching for the American Flyers Diving Club in 2015, and in 2019, she added Case Western Reserve University to her coaching resume. Still coaching for the American Flyers Diving Club, Epstein will enter her first season as Head Diving Coach for both Western Reserve Academy and Solon High School as well as serving as volunteer diving coach for Kenston High School. She's certainly no stranger to commitment and hard work, attributes that make for an excellent mentor and leader.

"I am excited to have Taylor lead our divers this season," said Director of Athletics and Afternoon Programs Herb Haller '85. "She brings plenty of coaching experience to our program and displays great energy as a coach and person that will be perfect for our program."

Epstein also brings valuable experience as a seasoned diver. In 2006, Epstein began diving with American Flyers Diving Club, and she continued to dive all four years on the varsity team at Solon High School, where she received recognition as a four-year Varsity letter winner and was the recipient of the coaches award and named Most Valuable Diver three years in a row.

Epstein continued her diving career at Canisius College and spent two summers at Ripfest Diving Camp, where she was coached by 2008 U.S. Olympic Diving Coach John Wingfield. During her time at Canisius she was named a Three-Time Canisius College Diving MVP, Four-Time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team, Eleven-Time MAAC Diver of the Week, Four-time MAAC Diving Finalist 1 meter & 3 meter springboard.

Those who work with Epstein describe her as passionate about fitness, coaching and helping others improve. She is also a certified personal trainer and a competitive bodybuilder, and she brings this knowledge and expertise, as well as her love of competition, to the poolside this season.

Welcome, Coach Epstein!
