On Sunday night during Convocation, Head of School Suzanne Walker Buck took a moment to recognize the entire Western Reserve Academy community for its efforts throughout COVID-19.
"Tonight, I wish to share a recognition that Western Reserve Academy recently received from Robert Sprague, the State Treasurer of Ohio. Western Reserve Academy's commitment to produce and donate personal protective equipment for healthcare workers should be honored. This innovative leadership directly played a role in keeping members of the community safe and healthy during a truly unprecedented time."
Buck also took a moment to applaud the efforts of Chief Innovation Officer Matt Gerber for his great contributions.
"Many members of our community were instrumental in providing services to others during the spring COVID crisis. But at this time I ask you to join me in a round of applause in appreciation of the leadership of Mr. Matt Gerber who spearheaded the manufacturing of personal protective equipment. Thank you Mr. Gerber and all who contributed to this effort."
The applause was followed by a reminder to express gratitude to all of the members of the administration, faculty and staff who worked this past spring to provide meals and services to our region as well as to our Reserve community through our "Reserve Your Meal" program. Closing remarks gave a nod to the numerous individuals who have made it possible for us to engage in learning on campus and virtually.
Congratulations to the WRA Community!
