In the News: Dr. Menna Demessie '98 to serve on UMG's Global Task Force for Meaningful Change

Congratulations are in order to Dr. Menna Demessie '98, who recently joined Universal Music Group to serve as Senior Vice President and Executive Director of the company's global Task Force for Meaningful Change.

Since her graduation from Reserve, Dr. Demessie has proven to be a pioneer in every sense of the word. She lives a life of purpose and passion, driven to make a difference and pursue her dreams. Previously, Dr. Demessie served at the Leadership Institute at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, where she spearheaded initiatives affecting African Americans and the global Black community in areas including education, criminal justice, economic opportunity, voting rights and public health for the past nine years.

Dr. Demessie also serves on WRA's Board of Trustees, as well as the American Political Science Association Council. She is also is a member of the National Conference of Black Political Scientists and teaches as an Adjunct Professor for the University of California Washington Center.

We are forever inspired by our Pioneers, in whatever they choose to pursue and the path they take toward incredible accomplishments. We are proud of Dr. Demessie, for her leadership at Western Reserve Academy, and for all she will do in this new chapter of her career. Congratulations!
