A round of applause for "The Laramie Project" cast and crew

The praise for Western Reserve Academy's performance of The Laramie Project has been abundant — and well-deserved.

The heartbreaking story of Matthew Shepard's murder and the resulting reactions and reflections of the community in the aftermath of the tragedy can be a challenging piece to perform and many scenes are painful to watch. The cast and crew of this year's winter drama handled the subject matter expertly and put together a moving and powerful performance.

We congratulate Director and Fine & Performing Arts Department faculty Donalee Ong for her strong leadership. We give a standing ovation to the cast and crew for each of their roles in this performance — which has spurred dialogue and continues to impact those in our community.

The full cast list includes Casey Semple '18, Wema Wachira '18, Spenser Valentine '19, Lexi Shoemaker '18, Noah Luch '19, Nupur Malhotra '19, Henry Ong '20, Joey Houska '20, Noah Frato-Sweeney '20, Miranda Namiotka '20, Audrey Rhea '21, Sang Hun Kim '18, Kali Chapas '18, Sasha Davis '18, Ananya Chetia '20 and Suraj Dakappagari '20.
