Program Goals. Reserve’s
co-curricular programs are designed with three primary goals: to
balance academic responsibilities with other activities including
community service; to provide an avenue for creative expression;
and to help develop talents and skills that will last a lifetime.
Opportunities.
As a volunteer at WWRA, the student-run radio station, you learn
about music programming and FCC regulations. As a student government
representative, newspaper editor or Admission Office ambassador,
you gain leadership, decision-making and organizational experience.
Membership in R.E.A.C.H. offers community service opportunities.
Or you can share recreational pursuits with friends of similar interests
by joining the Chess Club, the Investment Club or one of our many
other special-interest groups.
Leadership
Organizations
Prefects. A select
number of particularly able and mature students are appointed each
year to serve as student prefects. Dormitory and day student prefects
serve in a supervisory capacity, encouraging compliance with school
rules and addressing minor infractions.
Student Government.
Each year students elect class representatives to the Student Council,
which has the following mandate:
- To inspire student involvement and responsibility
- To serve as a platform for student ideas and opinions
- To increase students' awareness of administrative decisions
that affect the student body
- To coordinate student organizations
- To foster a positive school spirit
The Executive Branch
of the Student Council is comprised of the council chairperson and
vice chairperson, the president and vice president from each class
and other appointed officers. One representative of each dormitory
and two day-student representatives complete the Student Council.
OTHER
STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
Reserve offers a wide variety of extracurricular
organizations geared to meet interests, foster talent and broaden
