The host Western Reserve Academy girls lacrosse team won its seventh straight game after posting a lopsided 17-3 victory over Cleveland Heights Beaumont May 15.
The team honored the seniors, who played their final game on their home field.
"Each one of our senior girls played their hearts out," Lady Pioneers' first-year head coach Britta Harman said.
Julia Ferguson led Reserve (12-4), which won its sixth straight game, with four goals and Nicky Waldeck scored three goals.
Sarah Forhan and Allison Forhan each had two goals. Also finding the nets once apiece were Emily Kalis, Virginia Carter, Maggie Wise, McKenna Polak, Annie Wyman and Nora Ferguson.
If any of the fans left early during the WRA-Chagrin Falls' game May 14 at Chagrin Falls, they missed something magical.
The Lady Pioneers rallied from a 10-2 deficit to post a dramatic 15-14 win over Chagrin Falls.
"It looked like the results would not be in our favor," Harman said.
"After our captains came together to pump up the team at the half, an entirely different team walked onto the field and we took home the win."
Waldeck led Reserve with seven goals and Allison Forhan and Polak scored three and two goals, respectively.
Also finding the nets once apiece were Julia Ferguson, Lindsey Wirtz and Carter.
"Both the defense and offense gave it their all and we came out on top," Harman said.
WRA was scheduled to conclude the season at the Midwest Scholastic Lacrosse Association Tournament May 18, 19 and 20 at home. Results were not available at press time.
