The host Western Reserve Academy girls tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season after posting a 5-0 victory over Kent Roosevelt Aug. 22.
Sophomore Sydney King (6-0, 6-0) and seniors Gibson Miller (6-4, 6-0) and Briana Halasa (6-3, 7-5) cruised in singles’ play.
The Lady Pioneers’ doubles teams of seniors Sithara Thuluri and Shivani Sha (6-1, 6-3) and freshman Morrisa Clayman and senior Jing Zhu (7-5, 6-3) also triumphed.
Reserve’s junior varsity team earned a 3-2 win over Kent.
Host WRA also posted a 5-0 victory over Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Aug. 21 in its 2012 season debut.
King (6-0, 6-0), Miller (6-1, 6-2) and Halasa (6-4, 6-0) cruised in singles’ play.

WRA was scheduled to entertain Solon Aug. 23. Results were not available at press time.
The Lady Pioneers are set to visit Hawken (Gates Mills) Aug. 27 and Orange (Pepper Pike) Aug. 28. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
