Saturday Academy sets WRA apart from other boarding schools, as it provides students with immersive learning experiences centered around topical points of interest. Saturday Academy is comprised of two components:

I love my ECHO module! Now I'm thinking about majoring in economics in college.   Annie '13

ECHO Modules

ECHO modules provide students with the opportunity to discover a new passion or pursue an area of academic aptitude in depth. The diverse offerings reflect the broad interests and expertise of WRA faculty. Students enroll in two modules per year, and modules occur in six-week trimesters that align with WRA's athletic seasons.

Spotlight on Spring ECHO Modules

Introduction to Geography

“Geography is a subject that has fallen off in most high school curriculums, which is unfortunate because it draws from all the other sciences and is a perfect subject to study for systems thinkers.”

Writing the Right Stories
for Children

Writing a children's story is no easy task, but student's in Mike Morris' ECHO module were up to the challenge.

Engineering & Building for Change

Engineering & Building for Change challenges the creativity and problem-solving skills of WRA students.

Class Seminars

We organize Class Seminars by class. Freshmen study the idea of the self, sophomores examine their responsibilities as community members, and seniors explore global issues. Juniors focus on the college placement process. Seminars take place on Saturdays when ECHO module meetings do not take place.
