News: All WRA grads head to college

Hudson -- How many high schools in the U.S. can brag that 100 percent of the graduating class is heading to college?

One local private school can -- Western Reserve Academy.

"One hundred percent of the graduates are going on to college," WRA public relations director Russ Morrison said of the 2010 class, which graduated June 5.

While storms put a damper on many outdoor activities June 5, WRA still had its commencement, sending 110 graduating seniors into the world of upper academia.

The class did not have a valedictorian or salutatorian, Morrison said.

The students elected their class speaker, Nicholas Hobbs of Cleveland. Hobbs will attend California's Claremont McKenna College.

Two graduates, Patrick Alexander Sokoloski, of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Daniel Joseph Claus, of Toms River, N.J., will attend the U.S. Naval Academy in the fall.

"After a rainy, cloudy morning, I was pleased to hold a joyous graduation outdoors on the lawn of Brick Row in front of the chapel," said Christopher D. Burner, head of school at WRA. "We graduated another talented and spirited class who will move to many college and universities to continue their studies."
