Western Reserve Academy is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive and we need you! The event will take place this Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Murdough Athletic Center, with registration at the main entrance.
Hurricane Sandy has created an increased need for blood and caused many drives to be cancelled, so the American Red Cross is in an urgent need for blood. Your donated unit of blood can support up to three people in need. We will also be collecting double red units, so please consider this if you are able.
The WRA community is encouraging all willing donors to participate. Eligible donors must be at least 16 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in generally good health and must not have given blood within the last 56 days. Sixteen year-old donors must have a signed permission form from their parents to donate blood; the form can be faxed to the WRA Athletic Office: 330-650-9748. Donors should plan to bring their Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when they come to donate.
While appointments are not required, they are recommended to reduce donors’ waiting time. Those with appointments will be given priority at their appointment time. Appointments may be scheduled here with the sponsor code: wra or by calling 330.650.4400, ext. 3408.
We thank you for your support, and look forward to seeing you on Saturday! This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to embrace the spirit of compassion!
