We know where the Taylor family of Bridgeton Drive will be May 15.

Kathryn and John Taylor and their daughter Megan, 21, will be gathered around the television, with the DVR running, watching their son and brother, Patrick, perform on NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit show.

"I'm playing a delinquent teenager," said Patrick, 21, who attends New York University.

He said the high school-age teen he is portraying gets in trouble with online gambling.

"I got to work with Chris Meloni, Ice-T and a few minutes with Mariska Hargitay," Patrick said.

"They were really, really nice," he said. "It's a professional environment, but they were friendly."

Patrick, a 2003 graduate of Western Reserve Academy, is slated to graduate this month from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

"I plan to live in New York and continue working," said Patrick.

Patrick credits his interest in acting to WRA drama teacher Donalee Ong.

"Everyone benefited from her instruction," he said. "She was always very encouraging.  She always asked that we be professional.  She's so great, she flew to New York to see me in a play last month at NYU," Patrick said.

"I'm so happy for him," said Ong. "When I saw him in the play last month he was great.  He was so centered and so professional.  I am so proud of him."

Ong said she cast Patrick in a lead role in her very first production at WRA, Dancing at Lughnasa, by Brian Friel, when he was a sophomore.

"He was awesome," she recalled.

This is the first television role for Patrick, but he has appeared in an off-Broadway play, in addition to NYU productions.

He said he auditioned for the "SVU" role and was notified an hour later by his agent that he had landed the part.

"I was in class when I got the call," he said. "I went to class right after the audition.  I was pretty thrilled."

Kathryn said their entire family also is thrilled.  "He's so happy.  He's following his dream," she said.  "And so far, so good."

The show is slated to air May 15 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
