Steps in the Admission Process

1. Schedule a campus visit and interview. A visit to campus and a personal interview are required steps in the application process. The visit and interview generally take between three and four hours. You may request a visit online, by e-mail, or by phone at 330.650.9717 or 800.784.3776.

2 .
Send a completed Parent Application and application fee ($25 for day and boarding students, $150 for students residing outside of the United States). Western Reserve Academy's admission package includes an informative catalogue as well as application forms you will use as you proceed through the admission process. While forms are available for application by mail, we do encourage you to use our online application option.

3. After completing the Student Questionnaire and Student Essay, file with Western Reserve Academy.

4. Send Transcript Release Form to current school.

5. Give Recommendation forms to current math and English teachers with enclosed envelopes, stamped and addressed to Western Reserve Academy Admission Office.

6. Give Extracurricular Recommendation form to a coach, former or current teacher, scout leader, voice teacher, etc. with a stamped envelope addressed to Western Reserve Academy Admission Office.

7. Standardized tests. Applicants must submit a standardized test score. Freshman and sophomore applicants should take the SSAT (WRA is a testing center) or ISEE. Juniors, seniors and PGs may submit PSAT, ACT or SAT scores. Candidates for a post-graduate year must take the SAT or ACT. International students must take the SSAT and TOEFL or IELTS.

8. Preliminary Financial Aid Application. This form is required only if you are planning to apply for financial aid. The completed form is due to the Admission Office by January 1.

9. Final application. Applications are reviewed by an Admission Committee. Each component of an application is carefully reviewed with interest in the recommendations and personal characteristics as well as grades and test scores. The Admission Committee evaluates candidates for their potential for contribution and involvement in the school. Late applications are welcome and will be considered on a space available basis. Please note that after the January 15 and February 1 deadlines, the Admission Office continues to receive applications and responds to completed applications on a rolling basis.
