Summer
study in England. In 2002, Western Reserve Academy established
an exchange program with the Caterham School in Caterham, England.
Each year, six to eight students from WRA spend three weeks at the
Caterham campus in Surrey attending classes and participating in
sports and extracurricular activities. The school's proximity to
London, with easy access by train, offers Reserve students an opportunity
to attend a variety of Caterham-sponsored activities, including
an afternoon at Wimbledon, an evening in London's theater district,
museum visits, day trips to Oxford or Cambridge and other cultural
and educational opportunities.
In the fall, six to eight
Caterham students visit Western Reserve Academy for two weeks, attending
classes, participating in sports and taking advantage of trips to
Cleveland, Washington, D.C. and other points of cultural and historical
significance.
The exchange program is open
to WRA juniors, who apply for selection in the spring of their junior
year. Selections are made by history department faculty based on
student essays and in-person interviews.
